WestEd's Oakland office is in the Kaiser Building, a 28-story arc-shaped building overlooking Lake Merritt on Lakeside Drive between 20th and 21st Streets. Take an elevator in the lobby to the 25th floor and check in with the WestEd receptionist.

BY CAR
From San Francisco, East on 80 and 580
- After crossing the Bay Bridge, take 580 east toward Hayward/Downtown Oakland.
- Exit at Harrison Street and turn right.
- Continue on Harrison through three stop lights (it becomes Lakeside). Lake Merritt is on your left, the Kaiser Building is on your right.
From San Rafael, Southwest on 580
- After crossing the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, take 580 east toward Hayward/Downtown Oakland.
- Exit at Harrison Street and turn right.
- Continue on Harrison through three stop lights (it becomes Lakeside). Lake Merritt is on your left, the Kaiser Building is on your right.
From Concord, South on 680
- Take I-680 S toward SAN JOSE
- Merge onto CA-24 W toward OAKLAND/LAFAYETTE
- Merge Onto I-580 E toward HAYWARD
- Exit at Harrison Street and turn right.
- Continue on Harrison through three stop lights (it becomes Lakeside). Lake Merritt is on your left, the Kaiser Building is on your right.
From Fremont, North on 880
- Take 880 north to the Oak Street exit in Oakland.
- Turn right onto Oak, which then becomes Lakeside Drive.
From Livermore, West on 580
- Take 580 east toward Downtown Oakland/San Francisco.
- Exit at Harrison Street and turn left.
- Continue on Harrison through three stop lights (it becomes Lakeside). Lake Merritt is on your left, the Kaiser Building is on your right.
On-Site Parking
Ample parking is available in the underground Kaiser Building garage. The maximum for 12 hours is $21.00. Cheaper rates are available for those parking before 9:00 a.m. Parking is not validated. Overnight parking is $53.00
Enter the garage from the U-shaped driveway off Lakeside Drive, staying to the right.
Parking Lots
There are several parking lots within a two-block radius of the Kaiser Building, with prices starting at $7.00. Less expensive parking lots are located on Webster between 19th and 22nd.
Street Parking
For late afternoon and evening meetings, metered street parking is the best option; bring lots of quarters.
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
BART
Our office is three blocks from the Oakland 19th Street BART station. Exit the station at 20th Street. Walk east (away from Broadway, toward Lake Merritt) for three blocks. Turn left on Lakeside and continue to the Kaiser Building.
