Institutes & Forums
The Center provides high quality staff development through a variety of state, regional and local institutes and forums. Over 6,700 people receive direct training each year. Additionally, support is provided to train an additional 3,000 people through regional conferences and workshops.
Under contract with the California Department of Developmental Services, the California Early Intervention Technical Assistance Network (CEITAN) coordinates the
Early Start Institutes. CEITAN also coordinates the Family Resources and Supports Institute and several topical Forums.
The California Department of Education, Child Development Division, sponsors institutes coordinated by our Center staff.
All of Us Together... Moving To Inclusion Institutes target child care providers serving preschool children with disabilities and special needs.
The California Department of Education, Special Education Division, is sponsoring several summer institutes supporting the LRE (Least Restrictive Environment) Initiative. Our LRE Resources Project supports this intensive training.
The California Department Mental Health, collaborating with the California Children and Families Commission, will sponsor events coordinated by the California Infant, Preschool and Family Mental Health Initiative.
