Early Start Institutes are offered to early intervention service providers, specialists, service coordinators, administrators, and other service providers.
Institutes provide the knowledge base that all personnel involved in early intervention are expected to have in common, above and beyond knowledge in an individual area of specialization.
With this foundation of critical knowledge, Institute participants are better prepared to build and practice skills through local training and direct supervision experiences.
This project is funded by the California Department of Developmental Services through the California Early Intervention Technical Assistance Network.
The following resources are available directly from Early Start Statewide Institutes and Special Topic Trainings:
A Compilation of Early Start Statutes and Regulations (2004)
Early Start Service Coordinator's Handbook
WestEd staff involved with this project:
- Peter Guerrero, Project Coordinator
- Stephanie Myers, Project Associate
