Cheryl Allen Project Coordinator Cheryl Allen has been with WestEd's Center for Prevention and Early Intervention since 1999. As a Project Coordinator, Allen is responsible for implementing and monitoring the completion of tasks related to the Community College Personnel Preparation Project. She supports the existing community college structure and local interagency collaboration in order to train and effectively use paraprofessionals/early intervention assistants to serve young children with special needs and their families in a variety of early childhood settings. Prior to joining WestEd, Allen was a general and special education teacher for various grade levels and Special Education Coordinator for the Sacramento Employment Training Agency Head Start. She received a BS in special education from Utah State University and an MA in special education from California State University, Sacramento.
