Project Description: The Michigan Department of Education contracted with Learning Innovations at WestEd to design and facilitate an 18-month process to convene a multi-constituent state-level group of leaders to examine current policy, practice and research about effective mentoring and induction of new teachers.
As a result of this work, a set of state standards for the induction and mentoring of new teachers was developed and continues to inform the development and implementation of mentoring and induction programs in Michigan.
