Project Description: As part of an overall curriculum review process in partnership with Learning Point Associates, WestEd's Learning Innovations staff will conduct a curriculum review of special education in eight New York City school districts. The process will include document reviews, data analysis, on-site observations, record reviews, and interviews and focus groups with teachers, parents, and administrators.
The curriculum review will provide information to districts regarding the curriculum, instruction, assessment, and improvement planning practices related to their special education program. The review team will analyze and interpret factors that contribute to the performance of students with disabilities and provide recommendations to improve student achievement. This overall review ultimately will improve the achievement of students with disabilities.
