Project Description: The New York Comprehensive Center (NYCC) is one of 15 Regional Comprehensive Centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education. NYCC acts on behalf of all students in New York by working with education leaders in the state to meet the goals of No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

NYCC is hosted by RMC Research Corporation and delivers all services in conjunction with four partners, including Learning Innovations at WestEd.

NYCC engages state education leaders in using research-based findings and rigorous evidence to meet the goals of NCLB. NYCC staff design technical assistance services that meet education leaders' priority needs, further the key initiatives of the U.S. Department of Education, and have the greatest potential for developing state capacity to help districts and schools improve.

Through specific requests and regular meetings with state education leaders to discuss their priority needs for technical assistance, NYCC staff developed and continually review the State Service Delivery Plan to ensure that NYCC's work is attuned to education leaders' emerging needs. NYCC also offers Special Initiatives, designed to engage New York in areas of strong interest, such as teacher quality and the role of higher education in preparing the teacher workforce.

The NYCC website and listservs are the primary tools for sharing up-to-date information about NYCC events, NCLB updates, news from the New York State Education Department, and a variety of research resources. NYCC's relationship with the five U.S. Department of Education Content Centers are a major source of current research and resources to educators in New York.
