Professional Development Associate
Gina Hale joined WestEd in 1998 as a professional development associate with the Strategic Literacy Initiative (SLI).
She has over 15 years experience working with students in various contexts, including five years as an instructor for Outward Bound, and serving adjudicated youth and youth at risk. Her teaching experience spans grades K-12 in schools for homeless students, pregnant minors and teenage mothers, and court schools. As a middle school teacher in San Leandro, CA, she participated in the Strategic Literacy Network before becoming a teacher consultant and joining the SLI professional development team.
Hale holds a BA in liberal studies from San Diego State University and a multiple subjects teaching credential from Hayward State University.
