Karen Cerwin joined WestEd in 1992 as a Teaching Consultant/Regional Director for the California Alliance for Mathematics and Science, where she provides statewide and local leadership for the K-12 Alliance activities in Riverside, Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino counties.
Previously, Cerwin served as a K-16 classroom teacher, a staff developer for the California Science Implementation Network, and a fellow of the Inland Area Science Project. She was also an adjunct faculty member of several California State University campuses teaching science methods classes.
She is a fellow in the National Academy for Science Leadership, a contributor to the Challenge Standards for Science, a member of the Instructional Materials Advisory Panel for Science, and a contributing author to the Science and Literacy Professional Development Guide, The Science Assessment Facilitator's Guide, and Making Connections.
