What it is:
All modern operating systems have an extensive number of adjustments to increase usability by people with disabilities. Some software has special features, and you can download helpful utilities.

See the Mac OS, Windows, and Shareware tips which each include information for use with students with
    Visual Impairments,
    Physical Impairments,
    Hearing Impairments, and
    Learning Disabilities

Classroom Examples:
Sign-language students at the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind at Gerald Wright Elementary will soon be issued video iPods along with their textbooks. Third grade teacher Michelle Tanner will podcast the students' sign-language vocabulary words so they can study at home. According to a story in the Deseret Morning News:"Sign language is a visual medium, so it's really been hard. In the past, parents said, 'I don't know how to help them with their homework. I don't know the signs for their spelling words,"' Tanner said. The video iPods, however, will enable Tanner to put words at the bottom of her lessons so that parents can also understand and help their children study sign language. Tanner will also be able to upload her lessons onto iTunes, allowing students to access her mini-tutoring sessions from anywhere.
