For success in the 21st century, youth and adult learners need access to rigorous and engaging curricula that inspire a passion for learning and high-quality teachers and faculty.

Youth and adult learners also need greater access to postsecondary institutions and workplaces with opportunities to become directly familiar with these settings, enabling successful transitions to the next stages of their lives.

Career exploration and development, together with opportunities to expand and demonstrate learning through real-world experience, are also key for postsecondary education and career success.

WestEd staff partner with many organizations nationwide — including K-12, community colleges, adult education, institutions of higher education, economic development agencies, as well as business and industry — to ensure youth and adult learners have greater readiness and success in both postsecondary education and careers.
