SchoolsMovingUp, a WestEd initiative, helps schools and districts address the immense challenge of raising student achievement in low-performing schools.

SchoolsMovingUp was created based on the premise that education service providers have difficulty consistently accessing high-quality resources, proven services, and tools to use with low-performing schools.

SchoolsMovingUp offers a wealth of practical ideas and models for school improvement including profiles of previously low-performing schools from across the country that have improved student achievement as well as a robust database of resources, proven services, tips, and powerful tools that educators can use in their work with low-performing schools.

Frequent online events feature experts who share lessons learned, new ideas, and related resources about specific topics, including secondary literacy, assessment, special education, resource allocation, and school improvement models. Partnering with Horizon Wimba, SchoolsMovingUp makes available Live Classroom, a tool that provides single sign-on, cost-effective access to online meeting space.
