WestEd is evaluating two programs run by the New Jersey PSA: an alternative certification program for school and district administrators that provides cohort-based, unique learning experiences including internships, mentoring, electronic portfolios, and action research; and one that provides mentoring and induction services for all new administrators in the state.

This ongoing project, which incorporates focus groups, interviews, observations, questionnaires, and analysis of program documents and benchmark data, is conducting a formative evaluation to support improvement of the programs as they grow and expand as well as a summative evaluation of accomplishments and multi-year case studies of the growth and development of 10 administrators.
