Stop the Clock: Ending the Tyranny of Time in Education

Shifting the focus from how much time students spend in school to how well they master essential skills and concepts, this report looks at ways to restructure education schedules so that all students reach high standards. It examines strategies for ensuring that teachers have adequate time for essential non-instructional activities; strategies for encouraging districts and schools to restructure educational time; and their related costs and policy implications.
