Who Should Participate

Districts or schools in California eligible for the Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program.

What You Can Learn

WestEd is an approved provider of professional development through the California Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program. WestEd provides technology-related professional development in:

  • general curriculum development and instructional strategies;
  • leadership development for school administrators;
  • software integration; and
  • software/hardware training
The following WestEd services are eligible under the Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program:

Eligibility for the Program

The Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program resulted from the Settlement Agreement between California consumers and Microsoft Corporation. The program is available to all public K-12 schools, county offices of education, direct-funded charter schools, and State Special Schools, at which at least 40 percent of the attending students are eligible to receive free or reduced price meals through the National School Lunch Program. Additional Requirements

Districts must have an approved technology plan that is current at the time of the application. Information regarding the technology plan may be accessed at the Education Technology Web site at: www.cde.ca.gov/ls/et/rs/techplan.asp

Who Facilitates Your Services

The staff of WestEd’s Edgateway Services in the Information Services Department specialize in the effective integration of education technology and coordinate the selection of workshop leaders and expert consultants.

What Is the Cost

We offer a free initial consultation, up to two hours, to help define the district goals for professional development. Costs will vary depending on the scope of the work. A professional development package, for example, could range from $1,500 to $15,000.
