Sri Ananda is WestEd's Chief Program Officer.

Having assumed this position in August 2012, she is responsible for leading the agency's programs of work, ensuring that they meet WestEd's high-quality standards and positively impact the learning and well-being of children and adults.

Ananda works with program directors to define program goals and intended outcomes with respect, not only to quality and impact, but also business development, staffing, and operations.

Another of her priority areas is to facilitate knowledge-sharing, cross-program collaboration, and organizational learning across the agency.

She also works with infrastructure departments to help ensure that department goals and initiatives are aligned with program goals and initiatives.

Ananda previously served as the agency's Chief Development Officer (CDO). In that role, she was responsible for developing and executing the agency's resource development plan.

Under Ananda's CDO leadership, the agency experienced significant revenue growth. Moreover, business development systems and processes were established to help support and sustain that growth.

Ananda also provided leadership in recruitment and talent development. Anticipating the growing emphasis on rigorous research, she augmented the agency's research and methodological depth with talented and experienced senior researchers.

As a result of Ananda's recruitment and talent development efforts, WestEd has increased its capacity to successfully compete for important and large-scale research projects in several content areas, including student assessment, college and career readiness, and workforce development.

Prior to joining WestEd, Ananda worked on various assessment and research projects at IOX Assessment Associates and the American Institutes for Research.

Ananda received a BA in psychology, an MA in educational psychology, and a PhD in educational psychology from the Quantitative Methods and Evaluation Program, Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley.
