Valentin Pedroza

Research Associate



Valentin Pedroza is a Research Associate in WestEd's Evaluation Research Program, where he currently coordinates sections of the evaluation of the California Comprehensive Center.

Pedroza is the lead statistician for the evaluation of Texas School Dropout Prevention and Reentry Program Grants and the evaluations of a national arts program. His responsibilities include collecting data, coordinating data collection, creating data management systems, developing instruments, conducting site visits, managing data, analyzing statistics, and writing reports.

Pedroza worked on the evaluations of the Superintendent’s Urban Principals Initiative in Miami-Dade Public Schools, the Tobacco User Prevention Education Program in Los Angeles Unified School District, and the Small Learning Communities in Millikan and Lakewood High Schools. He has also worked on the evaluation of the College Board’s college preparation curriculum, the New York School District mathematics and language arts curriculum audit, and has provided technical assistance to Voluntary Public School Choice grantees to create, organize, and manage data.

Prior to joining WestEd in 2004, Pedroza was a teacher intern at Fullerton College, teaching statistics and research methods.

He received a BA in psychology and a minor in child and adolescent studies, and an MA in psychology with an emphasis in statistics and research methods.
