Pamela McCabe
Senior Program Associate
Pamela McCabe is a Senior Program Associate with the Center for Prevention and Early Intervention at WestEd.
McCabe provides consultation to state and local education agencies to address diverse student needs. She conducts systems evaluations, develops resources, and provides training in response to intervention, special education service delivery, and access to general education curriculum.
In addition, McCabe assists schools by assessing current practices through data collection and analysis, and providing implementation strategies for instructional and behavioral practices that facilitate student learning. She also works with education agencies to identify and disseminate information about research-validated best practices.
Prior to joining WestEd, McCabe served at the site, district, and state levels, including as Director of Special Education and Categorical Programs for a K-8 school district and Special Education Consultant for the California Department of Education (CDE). While at CDE, she was the lead consultant in the development of California’s statewide alternate assessment.
McCabe also served as a district coordinator for the Early Mental Health Initiative and as a site coordinator for the Healthy Start Program. In addition, she was a school psychologist, Title I reading specialist, and special education teacher.
