Mikiya Matsuda, Website Administrator and Project Assistant, provides support for the development and evaluation of WestEd's Making Sense of SCIENCE™ (MSS) courses.

MSS was developed by the Understanding Science™ for Teaching project at WestEd. Understanding Science for Teaching has reached thousands of teachers and staff developers across the country, impacting hundreds of thousands of students.

The project combines existing education research with knowledge of practicing teachers, staff developers, and scientists to collaboratively develop and refine professional development experiences for science teachers and staff developers.

In addition to his work with Understanding Science for Teaching, Matsuda has worked on other WestEd research projects related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and the assessment of students' 21st-century skills.

Matsuda received a BA from Amherst College.
