Janice Kearns is a Systems Improvement Specialist for the Center for Prevention & Early Intervention at WestEd.

Kearns collaborates with colleagues, state consultants, and other technical assistance providers to develop and implement training and technical assistance projects that support professionals in early intervention, early care and education, and special education.

She also is a core consultant for the Supporting Early Education Delivery Systems project, helping local education agencies and their partners improve services for young children with disabilities and their families.

Kearns has extensive experience in the special education field, with emphasis in services and supports for children, ages birth to five years. Her background includes administration of special education and early childhood programs, staff and program development, and written publications.

She was named the 2010 Special Education Administrator of the Year by the Association of California School Administrators. Her education includes earning an MA.
