Doris Waters is the administrative program manager for the K-12 Alliance, a position she has held since 1989.

Waters acts as a liaison with other professional development organizations, science and math groups, the state department of education, county offices of education, businesses, and schools and districts. She also provides administrative support to the program director and regional directors. Previously, she served as an efficiency expert for the K-12 Alliance.

She began her career in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she joined the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) — formerly the National Secretaries Association (NSA) — in 1972 and earned the association's highest accreditation, the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) rating. She later worked as an office manager, continued as an active member of an IAAP chapter, and established and coordinated professional development workshops for IAAP members and other administrative staff to prepare for the six-part, two-day CPS examination. She was awarded her IAAP chapter's "Member of the Year" award for her contributions.

She has served as adjunct faculty at Long Beach City, Cypress, and Golden West Colleges where she taught office-related programs for over 15 years. She also served on advisory committees for both Cypress College and Golden West College.

Waters received an AA in administrative sciences, a BA in vocational education, and an MA in vocational education from California State University, Long Beach.
