Mathematics Professional Development Leadership Institute
Mathematics professional development leaders often find themselves thinking about and supporting others. But when do they have the opportunity to think about and consider strategies for improving their own practice?

Through video presentations, discussions, and analysis of practice, this institute helps mathematics professional development leaders better their practice.
All video cases come from WestEd’s Leadership Curriculum for Mathematics Professional Development Project, a series of materials developed under a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. At the institute, participants will:

  • consider how to design and implement mathematics professional development to achieve specific goals and purposes;
  • discuss the mathematical knowledge needed for teaching teachers; and
  • enhance their repertoire of strategies and facilitation skills.
Deadline for registration is July 15, 2005.

Tuition: $400 fee* includes materials, and breakfast and lunch during the institute.

A block of rooms at the Doubletree Hotel has been reserved for participants at a rate of $89 plus tax.

Registration is limited on a first come, first served basis.

For more information, see the registration form (PDF) or visit the Leadership Curriculum for Mathematics Professional Development Web site.

Note: Since this institute is being partially subsidized by NSF funds, participants agree to participate fully for the entire institute and in pre- and post-institute data collection.
