Stanley Rabinowitz Cited in State of Colorado Press Release
State Board of Education Compares Colorado Academic Standards With Common Core StandardsJuly 21, 2010
Stanley Rabinowitz, Director of Assessment & Standards Development Services at WestEd, was cited in a press release from the Colorado Department of Education addressing the state's possible adoption of the Common Core Standards.
The Common Core Standards Initiative is a state-led effort coordinated by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State School Officers. Developed in collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and experts, the standards provide a consistent framework to prepare the nation's children for college and the workforce.
WestEd conducted a line-by-line analysis of differences between Colorado's model content standards and the Common Core Standards for two subject areas -- mathematics and reading, and writing and communicating.
