Center for Child & Family Studies (CCFS)
Ensuring a healthy start for our nation's children.

WestEd's Center for Child & Family Studies (CCFS) is dedicated to helping America's children get a healthy start in life. It does this by promoting research-based, high-quality early care and education services for children and families, with special attention to those living in poverty, dual language learners, and those with disabilities or other special needs.

CCFS's work also informs national, state, and local child and family policies.

The Center's acclaimed Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) is the most widely used training system for infant and toddler caregivers in the country, and its DVD/ video and print materials are distributed worldwide. Developed collaboratively by WestEd and the California Department of Education, PITC materials are based on the latest research and practice.
