Project Manager/Assessment Coordinator
Carlos Camargo serves as Project Manager/Assessment Coordinator in the Assessment & Standards Assessment Services program at WestEd.
Prior to joining WestEd, Camargo served as institutional and corporate development lead for the Tech Museum of Innovation. He was also Superintendent and Executive Director of the Institute of Computer Technology, a public agency within SCCOE, and former Research Fellow and the Director of Marketing & Educational Research at the Ohana Foundation for Technical Development.
He has taught courses in English/ESL/EFL at all levels of instruction throughout North America, Latin America, and Asia.
Camargo is a member of the IEEE East Bay Chapter of the Institute of Electronics & Electrical Engineers. He has expertise on researching, productizing, and commercializing IP, basic research and multi-modal, multi-platform IT technologies across a range of industries and markets.
He is a frequent conference speaker on ongoing research in free-choice learning, STEM reform, TEFL, ELL, SLA, multimedia instructional technologies, and social entrepreneurship training and program development.
Camargo received undergraduate degrees in English and political science from Florida International University, and graduate degrees in American literature and interdisciplinary American Studies and a doctorate in English literature and language from the University of California, Berkeley.
