DRDPtech© is a server-based computer support system for the DRDP© (2010) assessment instruments. This system is for programs that can install and manage DRDPtech© on a server, controlled by the agency, that provides access to the Internet. A technology person who is knowledgeable about downloading large files, installation of server software, and database management should be available to install the program. Find out more.
Desired Results Regional Training (2010-11) materials from Days 1-3 are now available!
Extensive changes were made to incorporate the foundations, framework, and the DRDP© (2010). We
highly recommend updating your materials now by downloading the files and inserting them into the training binder. A new binder may be purchased from WestEd for $35.00. However, the easiest way to update the binder is to simply download the new files and replace the outdated materials.

Accessible PDF versions of the Child Development Division (CDD) publications California Preschool Curriculum Framework, Volume 1, and the 2nd edition of the resource guide Preschool English Learners: Principles and Practices to Promote Language, Literacy, and Learning have been posted to the California Department of Education/CDD Internet Web site.

DRDP© (2010) Assessment Instruments now available on Desired Results Forms page!
The California Department of Education (CDE), Child Development Division (CDD), is pleased to announce release of the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP)© (2010) assessment instruments for use in documenting the developmental progress of children enrolled in child development center programs, including Cal-SAFE and Even Start programs, and FCCHEN programs beginning July 1, 2010. This release includes:
- DRDP-IT© (2010), for use with infants and toddlers birth to three years of age
- Interim version of the DRDP-PS© (2010): Front sections (I-III) of the advanced training version of the DRDP-PS© (2010), which includes supporting information and directions, and sections IV to VI of the DRDP-PS© (2010), for use with preschoolers 36 months of age to kindergarten entry
- DRDP-SA© (2010), Simplified Version, for use with school-age children kindergarten through 12 years of age

The Spanish versions of the rating pages and forms will be released later in August. The front sections of the DRDP-PS© (2010) will be released later this summer. The final User's Guide and the DRDP-SA© (2010), Complete Version, will be released in fall 2010.
The three DRDP© (2010) assessment instruments have been aligned with the Infant/Toddler Learning and Development Foundations and the Preschool Learning Foundations, Volume 1 and the California kindergarten standards. In the DRDP-PS© (2010), the order of two Literacy and Language Development measures were switched to match the order of the foundations in the Preschool Learning Foundations, Volume 1. Extensive studies have been conducted to establish the reliability and validity of the instruments.
Revisions to the above instruments since the release of the training versions have included minor edits to some of the measures, primarily in the examples, and re-wording and re-organization of the front sections. In addition, color and design were applied to enhance the appearance of the documents and ease of use, while also allowing for production of print-friendly black and white copies.

The Child Development Division released the DRDP© (2010) Assessment Instruments in late spring 2010 for use in CDE/CDD, CalSAFE, Even Start, and Head Start programs, for the 2010-11 contract year. The DRDP© (2010) Information Session TRAINING VERSIONS accompanied by a training module are now available.
