Regional Desired Results System Training (Invitation Only)
These trainings are hosted by the Child Development Division (CDD), California Department of Education and the Center for Child and Family Studies at WestEd.
Please note: These trainings are limited only to agencies that received an invitation letter. Each agency may send up to two administrators. It is recommended that at least one of the two participants is responsible for conducting the agency's professional development.
Regional Desired Results training sessions will be presented in October for administrative staff. This training is designed for agencies that are new or have experienced turnover of key staff. The training provides knowledge of the Desired Results system and the implications for program improvement and compliance. The training consists of three days: an initial two days with a third day occurring during the spring of 2008. Days 1 and 2 are prerequisites for Day 3. The first two days are designed to:
- Present an overview of the entire Desired Results system:
- Provide specific information about using its components and tools;
- Learn how the components and tools facilitate continuous improvement;
- Assist agencies to implement the Desired Results system at the classroom, program, and agency levels and with families.
Day 3 is designed to:
- Provide opportunities to share information strategies across agencies;
- Provide additional training and assistance on the instruments
- Assist in the self-study process.
Training activities include opportunities for hands-on practice with the Desired Results forms and instruments. There will be opportunities for questions and answers at the end of each day. Participants on Day 3 will analyze their self-evaluation data, participate in topical breakout sessions and be provided with additional support on specific components of the Desired Results system.
College credits and continuing education units are available for a $50 fee payable by check to Sonoma State Extended Education and by credit card. An assignment and attendance to all three days are the only requirements to receive course credit.
