One of the most promising ways to help young people develop knowledge and skills in making moral choices is to make them aware of the effect the media has on their decisions. Books, CD Roms, videos, and curricula for teaching media literacy are proliferating, and we need a guide to selection of materials for use with youth of all ages. The Center for Media Literacy's new catalog, Essential Resources for K-12 Classrooms Media Education presents the newest and best materials with enough information about each to make selection easy. One of the newsiest items is a 45 minute documentary video program, Teen Sexuality in a Culture of Confusion. The film gets young people thinking and talking about how the media's messages about sex, love, beauty and the body impact their struggles for personal identity, sexual maturity and social growth, and shows them how to become more critical consumers of the mass media. A copy of the catalog may be obtained from the Center for Media Literacy, 4727 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 403, Los Angeles, CA 90010.
