development of infants, toddlers and their families, and pregnant
women. WestEd's Center for Child and Family Studies

resource center.

Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education (http://www.enc.org)
ENC disseminates information and products to improve K-12 mathematics
and science teaching and learning. The WestEd Eisenhower Regional
Consortium is one of their partners.

Equity Assistance Centers (http://www.equitycenters.org)
Ten Equity Assistance Centers are funded by the U.S. Department of
Education under Title IV of the 1964 Civil Rights Act to promote equal
educational opportunities with regard to race, gender, and national
origin. WestEd's EAC provides services to Region
IX.

Federal Resource Center for Special Education (http://www.dssc.org/frc/)
The FRC and six Regional Resource Centers make up a nationwide
technical assistance network to respond to the needs of students with
disabilities, especially students from under-represented populations.
WestEd provides services to Region 1 through the Northeast
RRC.

The Institute of Education Sciences within the U.S. Department of Education compiles statistics; develops products; and funds research, evaluations, and wide dissemination activities in areas of demonstrated national need. Working with its contractors and grantees, the Institute provides evidence-based guidance to decision-makers on matters related to teaching and learning. This site provides educators and communities in rural areas with resources developed by the network of ten regional educational laboratories, including the Western Regional Educational Laboratory at WestEd.
The resources include publications, training materials, information about model programs, links to other
Web sites, and a research document, "Pulling Together: The Rural Circumstance," examining the condition
of education in rural America.
