Patti Crotti, Senior Program Associate

Patti Crotti works as a Senior Program Associate for WestEd's Comprehensive School Assistance Program. Crotti works extensively with underperforming middle and high schools to improve their capacity to support the implementation of No Child Left Behind. Her responsibilities include working as a lead and member of a state assistance intervention team for secondary schools, establishing and developing long-term sustainable literacy plans, providing technical support to assist federally identified program improvement districts to meet AYP, and serving on the state language arts committee.
Before joining WestEd in 2004, Crotti served at the district, site, and county office levels, including K-12 Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Secondary Education, County Office of Education Curriculum Coordinator, High School Vice Principal, and Secondary Reading Specialist. Her experience also includes chairing accreditation committees and conducting professional development on the implementation of standards-based assessment and accountability systems.
Crotti received a BA in English from Holy Names University and an MS in educational leadership from California State University, Hayward. In addition, Crotti earned an Administrative Services Credential and Reading Specialist Credential from California State University, Hayward, and a Standard Secondary Credential from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jaime Gonzalez, Research Associate

As a Research Associate in WestEd's Comprehensive School Assistance Program, Jaime González services low-performing schools and districts. His responsibilities include managing the collection and organization of student achievement data and drafting summative reports critical to the School Assistance and Intervention Teams (SAIT) and District Assistance and Intervention Teams (DAIT) programs.
He has experience in creating and maintaining database systems that help program directors and managers use longitudinal data as a means to chronologically detail schools and districts achievement by identify trends, educational needs, and measure performance. González also assists with conducting professional development trainings, facilitating workshops and focus groups, and conducting a variety of site-based interviews and classroom observations.
Currently, González is assisting with the management of WestEd’s award-winning school improvement website, SchoolsMovingUp. This is an interactive based website that centers on providing resources to help education professionals make sound decisions and take action in their school reform efforts. He is also the original developer of WestEd’s Schools and Districts Database, an online database that identifies schools and districts where WestEd has provided, or are providing, services. It is centered on facilitating communication and coordination among WestEd staff who work with schools and districts across the country, and will help staff with identifying and articulating the impact of WestEd's collective work.
Additionally, González works on small to large-scale program evaluations encompassing a variety of evaluation designs as well as content areas. He is currently a part of a team of evaluators that is evaluating the Minnesota Department of Education Refugee Subgrants Program (RSIG) and Pearson Opening the World of Learning Program (OWL) programs. The RSIG study focuses on researching the quality and impact of the Refugee Subgrants and school grants in seven districts located throughout the state of Minnesota. The OWL evaluation centers on conducting a multiple state evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of the Opening the World of Learning (OWL) early literacy program on children’s early literacy development. Evaluation responsibilities include conducting local site interviews, focus groups, classroom observations, and drafting summative reports.
Previously, González worked on the Region XI Northern California Comprehensive Assistance Center, where he assisted with the development and implementation of literacy workshops and school site observations based on the Reading Success Network, Secondary Literacy Support Network, and the Reading Excellence Act projects.
Prior to joining WestEd in 2001, González was an English as a second language teacher in South Korea. He also worked for the Migrant Education Program at the U.S. Department of Education and the California Department of Education.
González received a BA in government from California State University, Sacramento and an MA in education from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Bob Rosenfeld, Program Associate
|
Robert Rosenfeld is a Lead Trainer and School Assistance and Intervention Team Lead with WestEd’s Comprehensive School Assistance Program (CSAP). He works to build the capacity of districts, schools, and those who work with them to plan, implement, and monitor research-based, comprehensive reform efforts. For the past four years, he has been working with districts in California, Arizona, North Carolina, and Massachusetts to build local accountability systems to meet the challenges of No Child Left Behind and Adequate Yearly Progress.
Prior to coming to WestEd, Rosenfeld managed the development of educational toys and educational software. Rosenfeld is a former math and science teacher and is bilingual (Spanish and English).
