3. Summary Description: Virtual Theater provides an individualized environment in which children are actively involved in the experience of learning. They develop various cognitive skills. They work on composition while drafting and editing. They become involved in collaborative work. Virtual Theater supports learning through creative play. It builds on children's spontaneous interests and motivations, encouraging and directing improvisation capabilities. Virtual Theater is intended to be used by individual children outside the classroom. Various technologies are employed to permit the child to expand learning in a playful environment.

4. Training and Staff Development: 5. Technological/Resources Needed: The minimum requirement is access to a PC. There will also be components requiring Internet access or CD-ROM, but the basic program can run without them.

6. Intended Outcomes:
Students: Students will work independently in a creative and enjoyable environment building skills.
Teachers: Not applicable.

7. Instructional Time Required: Virtual Theater is designed to be used during non-school hours.

8. Role of the Pilot Teacher(s): Teachers might want to suggest after-school Virtual Theater activities to their students, but it is not necessary.
