INTERVENTION PLAN
Student Outcomes:< 1. Students will improve their writing skills. 2. Students will improve their motivation for writing. 3. Students will transfer learned skills to publishing their own books. 4. Students will review their own work and make proper corrections.
Teacher Outcomes: 1. Learn how to access Internet and find resources, using Shepherd. 2. Learn how to make a CD-ROM. 3. Use the Teacher Associate to professionally manage learning.
Instructional Plan: The curricular and instructional focus of this TIP is the use of technology to improve the writng of letters bywritng to pen pals over the Internet. The students will identify the elements of letter writing including the proper style, parts of a letter, proper paragraph structure, and proper sentence and grammar usage. The students will learn the components of process writing including brainstorming, research, writing, reading, editing, rewriting, and final copy. The students will work in cooperative groups to develop and process their letters from other students. For the second component of this TIP, students will work with cross age tutors to design, develop and publish their writing on the Internet. The final product will be student designed and produced home pages to share with other classrooms on the Internet.
Technology Integration: Students will produce better product faster and with less individual attention from the teacher with the computer as a motivation tool.
