INTERVENTION PLAN
Student Outcomes: 1. Students will improve writing skills. 2. Students will improve motivation. 3. Students will transfer learned skills to their writings. 4. Students will use correct punctuation marks in writings. 5. Students will identify and explain writing errors for self peer editing 6. Students will incoperate paragraphs into their writings.
Teacher Outcomes: 1. Learn to become better at using "Interdisciplinary Concepts". 2. Learn to use technology as a tool to support instruction in my classroom. 3. Learn how to access the Internet and find educational resources for my classroom. 4. Learn to use technologies like the TA and the Shepherd to make imformation management easier. 5. Learn to use the Internet to connect my students with other students.
Instructional Plan: The curricular and instructional focus of this TIP is the improvement of writing skills through the development of student home pages on the World Wide Web. The students will be pre assessed to determine their individual strengths and weaknesses in writing. They will use the elements of the ÒYoung AuthorÓ including illustrating story sequence, editing and publishing, and how a book is made. The students will work with other second grade classrooms to share their publications. Through the modeling of good sentences usage by the teacher, students will develop and improve their writing skills. The students will use the process of self/peer evaluation to continue development of their writing and presentation skills. The students will use the Internet to gather resources for their publications and communicate with other students in other places. The students will also learn the elements of video production including storyboarding, script writing, editing and filming and present their presentations at a ÒMedia FestÓ.
Technology Support: The TA will be used to assist me in much of the Planning and organization of my TIP. The Shepherd will help me to search, save, and implement the resources/sites. Instructional CD ROMS, video, and other software will be used to MOTIVATE children to write. Camcorders will be used to evaluate purposes for student and teacher and as a motivational tool.
