AZ Math & Science
Resource Sites

Arizona features a large array of educational settings with variations in size, language and culture. Within its 114,000 square miles, it has few urban centers (Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff) and numerous rural hamlets. Arizona's minority school age population is rapidly growing - 45% of public school students are minorities.

WERC collaborates with a variety of stakeholders to further reform efforts in K-12 mathematics and science education in Arizona, focusing on the design, implementation and evaluation of professional development programs. In this work, we target school systems with underachieving ethnically and linguistically diverse student populations.
