Leading with Learning is a systemic approach for school districts focused on improving teaching and learning for English learners. That approach includes intensive blended professional learning for teachers, instructional coaches, and principals, and systems work with district leadership teams.

Leading with Learning’s ultimate goal?

Raising student achievement and ensuring that all English learners and other culturally and linguistically diverse students graduate from high school ready for college, careers, and meaningful interaction with civic life.

Says Project Director Pamela Spycher: “One thing that’s innovative about what we are doing is we are focusing simultaneously on four big areas that promote equity: culturally responsive learning environments, integrated literacy — reading, discussion, and writing — around complex texts, discussions about language, and planned and just-in-time scaffolding.”
