WestEd Publication Wins National Education Publishing Award

National newsletter showcases agency’s attention to quality
San Francisco, California — WestEd’s R&D Alert® has won the 2012 Beacon Award for Excellence in Marketing Newsletters from the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP).
Published three times a year, R&D Alert covers issues affecting schools, communities, and human development throughout the United States. Free subscriptions are available at WestEd.org/subscribe.
R&D Alert beautifully documents our passion for improving learning,” says Glen Harvey, CEO of WestEd. “I’m pleased AEP has recognized our publication and hope more people subscribe.”
Winning entries undergo two rounds of judging by a select pool of educators and educational publishing professionals. Entries are judged on conceptualization, excellence in execution, integration of editorial and design, and effective use of the medium.
AEP has recognized WestEd’s work many times in the past. Last year, WestEd Math Pathways & Pitfalls won the Distinguished Achievement Award in the Curriculum Category for Mathematics, Grades 6–12.
The AEP awards are the longest-running recognition program in the industry. For a complete list of finalists, visit AEPweb.org.
