Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) State Plan
Public Comment Process
From December 2, 2019 through January 3, 2020, WestEd hosted a public comment period on the November 2019 Draft Federal Perkins V State Plan. Over 350 comments from 90 individual respondents were received. Comments were made by individuals on their own behalf and sometimes on behalf of their organizations either via submission of an online feedback form, during public comment at one of four public comment sessions, or via letter. California State Board of Education (SBE), California Department of Education (CDE) and Community College Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) staff reviewed every comment and have responded to each one.
The Draft Federal Perkins V State Plan has been reviewed by the California Workforce Pathways Joint Advisory Committee (CWPJAC). The CWPJAC, comprising of an equal number of representatives of the State Board of Education (SBE) and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) Board of Governors (BOG), as well as two ex-officio (non-voting) members serve as the joint policy body that makes recommendations to their two governing boards regarding all aspects of coordinated delivery of CTE in the State.
