Chris Brandt

W. Christopher Brandt is the Deputy Director of the Standards, Assessment, and Accountability Services (SAAS) program at WestEd. Brandt has almost 20 years of experience in education as an elementary teacher, college instructor, district administrator, and researcher. He works closely with federal agencies, states, and school districts to develop and test innovative assessment and accountability systems.

Prior to joining WestEd, Brandt was Vice President at IMPAQ International, where he served as a member of IMPAQ’s executive team and provided oversight for strategic planning, new business development and program management for the organization’s education practice area.

Brandt earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Purdue University, a master’s in elementary education from Indiana University, and a doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Georgia.
