Krystal Diaz serves as a WestEd Senior Program Associate with the Educational Leadership and System Design team. As she coaches leaders to transform educational institutions, she is committed to providing all students with an equitable education. Diaz believes in the power of the educator and will stand with districts to leverage their capacity through joy, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality and equity.
Prior to joining WestEd, Diaz served as the Director of District and School Leadership at PBLWorks, delivering high-quality project-based learning (PBL) professional development to schools and districts. Diaz has deep experience working in urban educational settings—including charter, private, alternative, and public institutions—within the Los Angeles region. She has served as a PBL classroom teacher, an instructional coach, and a district-level Linked Learning Coordinator supporting the launch and implementation of Career Technical Education Pathways.
She holds a BA in Sociology, two MA degrees (one in Secondary English Education, one in Professional Writing), and certification in Literacy and Reading as well as in Administrative Leadership.
