As an editor and writer on the WestEd Communications staff, Noel White has overseen the development of numerous products and publications, including research reports, policy briefs, online materials, and multi-component publications such as the Math Pathways & Pitfalls K–8 intervention curriculum and Making Sense of SCIENCE professional development course materials for teachers.
From 2000 through 2012 he was lead editor for an agencywide annual report that garnered 15 awards in competitions of the Association of Educational Publishers, the League of American Communications Professionals, and the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
White also edits the newsletters and blog posts and helps program staff shape how their work and accomplishments are presented in print and online.
His previous work—at Harvard Project Zero, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and the George Lucas Educational Foundation—included research and writing on a variety of education programs, curriculum development, and an ethnographic study of collaboration in school reform.
White received a BS in anthropology from Cornell University and an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
