The Map to Inclusive Child Care (MAP) Project is committed to improving access to quality child care for children with disabilities or other special needs and their families.
Project activities include support, education, and training for providers and the families they serve. MAP Project staff collaborate with key stakeholders who provide leadership in California for children with disabilities or other special needs enrolled in child care and development programs.
Stakeholders include:
- policymakers
- state agencies
- program administrators
- funders
- service coordinating bodies
- professional organizations and other groups that have an impact on the inclusion of children with disabilities or other special needs and their families
- child care providers
- early childhood special education and special education service delivery systems.
Funded by the California Department of Education, the MAP project also develops materials and serves as a clearinghouse of resources and information about inclusive practices and up-to-date information on successful state and local initiatives.
