Description
This report, produced by the Center for the Future of Teaching and Learning at WestEd, reviews research that examines and analyzes California’s teaching profession.
Part I of this report addresses the issue of ensuring that every California schoolchild has a qualified and competent teacher. It includes chapters on the supply of and demand for teachers, the teacher preparation system, and teacher recruitment.
Part II addresses the issue of building and maintaining the strengths of the current teacher workforce. It contains chapters on induction and professional development.
Each chapter in this report is preceded by a short synopsis of the key findings presented and ends with key recommendations.
