Real Science, Real Impact: How WestEd Brings NASA’s GLOBE Program to Life in Classrooms

In partnership with UC Berkeley, WestEd brings NASA’s GLOBE program to K–12 classrooms, equipping teachers to guide students in collecting real environmental data, developing STEM identity, and presenting their findings to working scientists.

Three students stand in a classroom or museum-like setting presenting a research poster on an easel titled “Nitrogen in Soil: What’s the Deal?” The poster includes sections such as research methods, results, and conclusions. One student faces the poster while another student wearing a name badge stands nearby, and a third student with a backpack listens while holding a notebook. In the background, a large exhibit with space-themed visuals and equipment, including a display labeled “Visit Saturn,” is visible.
