Join education practitioners, policymakers, and researchers at one of our REL West Bridge Events — free public forums where you can learn from each other, hear about high-quality research and discuss its implications, and build capacity to use data and improve student outcomes.

Service Details

Interested in hearing about the latest in K–12 education research? Do you have a suggestion for a public event that could benefit your community? Are you looking for a speaker to share research-based information at your meeting? Would you like to partner with a federally funded research organization to hold an event on an education issue critical to student outcomes?

REL West can provide speakers, research information, or an entire event to bridge research, practice, and policy to build capacity of educators and inform policymakers in order to support educator and student success.

REL West Bridge Events may be held online or in person throughout the West Region. Although events are typically in person and last between a half and full day, some events are presented as shorter online webinars.

Any upcoming events are posted on the REL West website Event page. Sign up for occasional email communication from REL West, where upcoming events are announced as well.

Bridge Events feature a combination of the following activities:

  • Research presentation by an expert in the field*
  • Panel discussion of practitioners
  • Discussion among policymakers about the implications of research findings
  • Interactive sessions for participants to engage with research, data, or tools
  • Opportunities for attendees to interact with presenters and each other

* Bridge Events feature a range of speakers (local and national researchers, policymakers, and practitioners) and activities, facilitated by REL West staff and event co-hosts (e.g., research alliance members, state departments of education, Comprehensive Centers).


There is no cost to attend a REL West Bridge Event, although attendees are responsible for covering their own travel costs.

If you would like to co-host an event with us, REL West can cover speaker fees and travel costs, the cost of producing materials, and other event-related expenses. However, REL West cannot pay for food and beverages, and appreciates the provision of no-cost meeting spaces where feasible.
