Date: Friday, September 17
Time: 10:00-11:30 am (Pacific Time) / 1:00-2:30 pm (Eastern Time)
Join the National Center for Systemic Improvement to hear state panelists on policies, best practices, and strategies related to implementing IDEA requirements for parentally-placed private school students with disabilities.
NCSI will preview two new tools for state education agencies (SEAs) and local education agencies (LEAs) to track compliance, including:
- Equitable Services Self-Assessment. This tool contains checklists, organized by six topical areas, to guide SEAs through an evaluation of their guidance to LEAs and to help identify potential areas for improvement.
- Proportionate Share Calculator. This tool assists SEA staff in exercising their supervisory responsibilities for LEA implementation of the requirements for parentally-placed private school students with disabilities, including calculating proportionate share amounts and determining whether LEAs are meeting proportionate share requirements. The calculator also includes an LEA template.
These tools were developed as a result of state requests and input. Thank you to all the states that participated in the pilot of these tools and provided feedback.
The Office of Non-Public Education (ONPE) will join the webinar to overview available resources for states and LEAs on its website.
After registering, you will receive an email with the details for participating. If you have any questions or need help, please contact Mari Shikuzawa at mshikuz@WestEd.org.
