  2. Concise and insightful, Self-Care Strategies for Educators During COVID-19 offers practical, research- and experience-based self-care strategies that are more important than ever during these times.
  3. Students classified as English Learners require rigorous content instruction with ample opportunities for developing language and critical skills during distance learning. These four tips from the experts at the Quality Teaching for English Learners initiative can help.

  5. The Engaging Parents and Students from Diverse Populations in the Context of Distance Learning webinar describes family engagement strategies that can benefit vulnerable students and families.
  6. Strategies for Trauma-Informed Distance Learning describes how to recognize and respond to students’ social and emotional needs while teaching remotely. The authors draw upon neuroscientist Bruce Perry’s “3 Rs” approach to interventions: “Regulate, Relate, and Reason.”
  7. In this blog post, leading dropout prevention scholar, Dr. Russell W. Rumberger, discusses strategies for keeping all students engaged in school.
  8. In Engaging and Supporting Families In At-Home Learning During COVID-19, REL West presents a list of resources to spark ideas about maintaining school-family partnerships in the absence of opportunities to interact in person.
  9. A recent webinar series addresses the ways educators can support multilingual students and English Learners in distance learning; the sessions cover a range of topics, including oral language development and lesson planning strategies.
  10. What do instructional practices for English Learners look like in remote learning environments? Supporting English Learners During School Closures: Considerations for Designing Distance Learning Experiences shares tips for creating engaging and effective distance learning.
