Effective Strategies for Teaching English Learner Students with Disabilities - Summer Institutes
Many misconceptions exist around the teaching and learning of English learner students and students with disabilities.
- Learning disabilities are academic and don’t impact other areas of a student’s life.
- Students who are English learners aren’t able to engage in higher-level thinking until they learn basic skills.
- All students who are English learners learn English in the same way and at the same rate.
This two-day institute addresses these and other misconceptions and offers participants effective, research-based strategies to integrate into instructional planning.
