The WestEd Justice & Prevention Research Center (JPRC), led by Director Anthony Petrosino, is responding to a nationwide charge to deliver solutions that promote positive school environments for engaged learning and achievement.

One of JPRC’s significant contributions is a monthly newsletter highlighting topics such as:

  • Mental Health in Schools
  • School Climate
  • Addressing Trauma in Schools
  • Restorative Justice & Discipline
  • Bullying
  • Violence Prevention
  • Law Enforcement

The JPRC brings distinguished expertise to critical questions and issues related to juvenile and criminal justice, violence and crime prevention, and public health and safety for children and young adults. Just released is a noteworthy special edition of its monthly newsletter, providing a timely and encyclopedic review of solutions that impact school safety—from WestEd technical assistance, research and services to symposia results, papers, webinars, toolkits, and more.

If you are dedicated to promoting safety in your schools, sign up for the JPRC newsletter and get their latest news, events, research and evaluation studies, and publications.

In addition to the JPRC, staff all across WestEd work with schools, communities, and policymakers to encourage pro-social development and school environments that support all learners. WestEd’s broad-based work in areas related to health, safety, and well-being includes comprehensive research, evidence-based programs and services, extensive resources, and highly specialized guidance to schools and districts.
