Paul Koehler, Director of WestEd’s Policy Center, participated in the recent invitation-only Gradnation Convening of Leaders in Washington, DC.

This special convening brought together the 100 leaders essential to planning the next phase of the Gradnation campaign, which is working to ensure 90 percent of students in America will graduate from high school on time by 2020.

The event, sponsored by America’s Promise Alliance, spurred discussion among Koehler and fellow leaders on working together to create the conditions under which every young person has a chance to succeed in school, work, and in our communities.

Koehler’s leadership work on the Arizona Mayors Education Roundtable was a key factor in Koehler being invited to the Gradnation Convening.

The Roundtable brings together mayors of Arizona’s larger cities, district superintendents, and their key staff to share data, evidence-based and promising practices, and programmatic strategies that can help address local challenges affecting students’ education and career success.

The Roundtable is convened by WestEd and funded with core support by The Helios Education Foundation.
