RAWC is a grant-funded program offering professional development opportunities for middle school teachers in California, Indiana, Michigan, and Pennsylvania to build students’ engagement and achievement in core content-area classes of English language arts (ELA), history/social studies, and science.

Who Should Apply to Participate in RAWC

  • Individual teachers. Any teacher from California, Indiana, Michigan, or Pennsylvania who independently teaches at least one regular education middle school (grades 6–8) class in ELA, history/social studies, or science.
  • Teams of teachers. School teams should include 6–9 middle school teachers: 2–3 ELA teachers, 2–3 history/social studies teachers, and 2–3 science teachers (school teams meeting these criteria will be given priority over smaller teams).
